At around 10am yesterday morning (after a lengthy wait gathered like cattle on Piccadilly) we, and 26,000 others, all shot off over the start line and ran our little legs ragged. Despite some unplanned toilet breaks and the glare of the rather unwelcome sun on our shoulders we all managed to make it round the full 10k route in impressive times.

The joy we felt at crossing the finish line was only surpassed by the realisation that we have (so far) managed to raise a whopping £1,235.00 for Kidney Research.

On behalf of all ‘Team TP’ (Miranda, Kev, Sam, Claire, Alison, Jack, Paul (despite his unfortunate absence with actual swine flu) and me – Helen) we would like to say a massive thank you to all of you who have supported and encouraged us and helped us to raise such a fantastic amount for charity. After weeks of chasing fit people along the Southbank, it’s finally time for our BIG RACE! The Partners running team – Super8 – are running in the Asic’s British 10k Run this Sunday for Kidney Research UK. It’s a fabulous charity with particular meaning to one us taking part – Jack Renwick – and we’ve set ourselves a target of £1000 to raise.

If you have any spare pennies down the back of your sofa, all donations are very much appreciated.

We’ll post a picture here next week as proof of our efforts but if you want to come and support or laugh, we’ll be setting from Hyde Park Corner at 9:35 on Sunday and finishing at some point in a Whitehall pub. You can find out more about the Asic’s British 10k run here.
