    Well said. I haven’t seen a city ‘brand’ yet that managed to encapsulate everything about a city – it simply can’t be done. At best you have an abstract mess (where was it…Bristol or somewhere?) or an image of one particular landmark (like my home city, Newcastle…branded as ‘NewcastleGateshead’)

    I think Boris and Co. are under the impression that because London is hosting the Olympics, it needs to be trendy and branded and basically to have something to slap onto products to sell to tourists. But they have plenty of that already! I think it says more about London and its diversity and character, to let the current variety come together and sell it. Like you say, tourism doesn’t come because of a logo…
